I honestly wouldn't have a problem with them running ads as long as it was a single ad per-age and non-obtrusive.



I'm happy they don't go down that route. And I wish they don't waste energy on discussing ads.

If we keep going with the cancer analogy: When I read about metastasis on Wikipedia, what kind of ads do you think I would be shown if they'd show ads? Benign ones?


I would, since the figures show that it's not necessary. If it becomes necessary it will be because WMF failed to control spending growth, something the cynic in me says is likely.


But the contributors would. Why would they put their effort into a free resource, for others to profit off of it. Oh wait...
