> Who these "us" you are referring to?

"Us", here, refers to the HN readers.

> As the old saying went back in Fido/BBS times - "unlearn to speak for everyone".

I didn't say that we all thank the author. In that sentence, the person who is thanking is me, let alone the whole thing being a figure of speech.

That sentence is a snark gratuitously attributed to more than yourself.

I don't understand your concern. Does anyone read my comment and think that I think that I represent the HN readers? I doubt it, but, I'm sorry if that's the case. Do you want me to admit it that single sentence was sarcastic? Well, yes it is but I explained myself in detail afterwards. It's neither a dismissal nor lacks content. Your objection to sarcasm in this instance would be unwarranted. Also then, this means your first reply is snark itself.

I'm with you. It's an obnoxious habit that people have picked up on news aggregators, to publicly make an announcement that they closed a page.

Heh, I'm with you (though I've made the announcement).

But I really don't see much potential in Electron for any kind of heavy app. And even if it was acceptable, I'd still prefer it to be native.
