There's Bittorrent. It's anonymous and not web based.

edit: thinking about it not sure I agree with the anonymous part considering the swarm can be monitored. the access log is essentially publicly distributed.


Neither is FTP really, the user's IP is still logged somewhere, you just use a common user (anonymous) with everyone else. The modern name of such a feature would probably be something like 'No registration required'. It goes to show how much the meaning of the word 'anonymous' changed over the last 30 years.


Not quite; the "currently accessing" list is public. While it is of course possible to make an access log from this with continuous monitoring, it's not possible to arbitrarily query historical data.
