Agree 100%. I'm hoping that RISC-V will be a nice plateau where we can hang out for a long, long time. It's within spitting distance of a good as the current mode of thought is going to get, and there's no commercial entity behind it to chase after differentiation and therefore churn.

It almost makes me hope that arches like the Mill don't pan out - if there's nothing obviously better, boring compatibility will win and bring with it the opportunity to build higher on narrower, more stable, base.
