I am in the same boat.

I'm actually holding up a wider scope for Docker deployment within our organization until we can use Docker for Mac.




https://github.com/nlf/dlite is a pretty good placeholder. Only thing it stumbles a lot on in my experience is if your containers need to hit a VPN.

Why does needing to use docker-machine prevent you from rolling out docker within your org?


I would prefer to ensure my colleagues go through one transition in their developer setup, rather than two.

The vagrant-based docker machine system needs some work to be a smooth experience, such as NFS workarounds for shared file system performance, file watching and so on.

This is hopefully avoidable in Docker for Mac!
