Bad drivers take on a whole new meaning outside of wealthy countries where the dangerous drivers routinely end up disqualified from driving. Just by providing a predictable vehicle everyone can trust will stop and stay stopped at red lights, stop at stop signs etc AI will bring a lot to the world.
Seventy-four per cent of road traffic deaths occur in middle-income
countries, which account for 70% of the world’s population, but only 53%
of the world’s registered vehicles, burdens for 74% of world's road
deaths. In low-income countries it is even worse. Only one percent of the
world's registered cars produce 16% of world's road traffic deaths.
