Stochastic terrorism is a such bullshit concept, only designed to prevent examination of some political ideologies.

> France is one of the countries with the highest levels of inequalities

France has a Gini coefficient in line with other OECD countries.

> one of the most racist countries on earth

> even little girls can't be allowed into school if they display signs of muslim worship

I don't see how that's racist. No religious symbol are allowed in school, even christian cross are banned.

> many people who reside in France are denied citizenship

Why would residing in a country grant you citizenship?

> France has a Gini coefficient in line with other OECD countries.

We could debate whether Gini is a good measurement, but we'll probably agree that in any case it could be better? We have resources to house and feed all, yet people die from cold/heat on the streets or from lack of food, in france, in 2021.

>> one of the most racist countries on earth

I don't have a scientific measurement of it. However, it's not exactly a secret France has a long history of colonization and racial hierarchies, and using "women's rights" as a decoy for oppressing foreign people. So not only it's racist, but it's not "just" lightweight xenophobia as you would find in many places.

As for a direct quote saying France is the most racist country on Earth, i would refer to this short documentary about the struggles of undocumented people: https://youtube.com/watch?v=MMgxpU5Jyv4 (to watch with your favorite invidious instance)

EDIT: There was also a nationwide debate about a decade ago about removing equality of races from the constitution, arguably because since races don't exist biologically they should not be mentioned. That should be a redflag.

> I don't see how that's racist. No religious symbol are allowed in school, even christian cross are banned.

Denying people their identity is racist. Or fascist, whichever you prefer. Also, on paper, no religious symbols are allowed, but in practice christian symbols are widely accepted and only muslim symbols cause "problems". That's what's especially racist about it.

Laïcité (secularism) is the principle which states the State cannot mandate what you must or must not believe. Under pressure from the "far left" (teachers unions) and the far right ("ripost laïque", "génération identitaire"), the word has been redefined to mean that you cannot have displays of religion in public spaces (unless they're christian displays). That's the exact opposite of the content/spirit of the 1905 law of separation of Church and State which i strongly recommend you to read. The documentary "Un racisme à peine voilé" may also offer you some perspectives on this topic to see beyond the newspeak.

> Why would residing in a country grant you citizenship?

It's in the etymology: citizenship is derived from the "city" where you reside, unless you're a slave in which case you don't have such status. It's only natural that you enjoy political rights wherever you live your life, don't you think?

Most countries have provisions for granting citizenship to foreigners. The french conditions are tough and require to know quite a lot about the (imperial, not popular) history of France and show allegiance to the authoritarian principles of the State typical of a far-right agenda. As a french person with anarchist politics, i could not pass the test (same goes with many other french people).

There is no such thing as free health care or free education. You pay it through heavy taxation where France is the champion.

European healthcare and education is great, far cheaper than American, and it is indeed free for many of the patients and students.

Compared to how US private healthcare sucks the blood out of Americans, French healthcare is pretty much 'free'.

Half of all US healthcare is paid for my the Federal government (Medicare, Medicaid and VA). Since the US spends nearly twice as much as a proportion of GDP and more since US GDP is higher, the Federal share of US health care alone is more than the entire French spending as a proportion of GDP.

A riot is not a "coup", especially by people with no weapons. The people attacking asians are mostly not from the right wing crowd.

Isn't there a lot of calls to violence on Twitter and Facebook? Why singling out Parler, they moderate calls to violence as best as they can too.

Maybe just because it's fun to pick on the new kid...

The difference is Facebook & Twitter take their content moderation (and it's overall impact on their business) very seriously.

From any angle you look at this, Parler failed at reasonably moderating their content. More so, at their own peril despite being warned by AWS about the violent content.

And by employing volunteer moderators, it reinforced the echo chamber effect, suppressing any views or opinions diverging from the mostly far-right user base.

If you can buy your own infra your safe, it's the old thing. Having your own castle your safe, need someone else's castle your not.

Pretty much this. The terms are there, IMO, to allow providers to cut relationships with anyone that draws negative press.

Parler got popular amongst Trump supporters and nothing draws negative press like Trump.

The fun thing is...why oh why depend on other castles like aws? Servers are cheap, independent Data-centers are here, and good system administrators (like myself..of course) are still a living species (although on the brink of extinction outside habitats like finance and insurance etc)

Talent is neither cheap nor abundant.

OTOH, their volumes did not justify the complex environment they allegedly had and they should be very well within the skill set of the very average devops engineer. No large scale deployment expertise required.

You are correct. It's probably much cheaper too.

True, but how many of us are willing to work for them?

Haha good point :)

It was never Trump's account, only a placeholder they mad in the eventuality that Trump join the platform.

Welp, time to change my passwords I guess.

Well that part is true but I don't think they choose the best way to deal with it.

Libertarians do. Though with Kamala Harris it's gonna be even worse

Look for actual polls, the belief that HCQ works and masks don't are in minority among Republicans, same with most of them having never heard of Qanon, the proud Boys or the boogaloo (which is more a meme than what was depicted in msm) These positions are inflated by the MSM to make right wingers look like crazy lunatics.

Look at the polls huh? You must think I'm dumber than a sac of hammers if You think I'm gona believe another one of them.(tounge in cheek)

Most of the vocal support for political candidates comes from the minority of voters, on both sides. That doesn't change the situation.

The point is wether real or not there is a perception that powers that control social media are activist, woke or whatever other lable You want to give them.

These are private companies, right wing supporters do not believe in heavy handed government, so what else are they to do but find new venues to expresd their views? Do You realky expect them to just shut up and take it? That will never happen.

Social media is neither Left nor Right leaning, nor are the rules. But if the people enforcing said rules have bias, then problems arise, isn't that the point BLM was making about the Police?
