Hello everyone!

Today i want to introduce the new Telegram bot called Journalist.

https://telegram.me/JournalistBot

JournalistBot allows you to create real-time broadcasts with media content. For every broadcast you created you got public link to share broadcast with your readers and html code to embed broadcast into your website or blog. Your public broadcast will look like this demo: https://journali.st/broadcasts/1944389149

You can create posts just by sending messages to the bot. It supports texts, links, photos, videos, voices and locations. Also you can use Markdown (just enable it from Settings). Readers will get all updates immediately after they are published without needing to refresh the page. It works very fast. Of course you can edit and delete your messages. Also you can invite another editors to your broadcasts. So, you can work on broadcast with your team. You don't need any additional web interfaces or apps to control your broadcasts. This makes it a truly mobile and one of the most advanced bot for content creation. Target audience of JournalistBot are bloggers, newsmakers and online media portals. Embeded broadcasts can be easily customized with css that makes it look like native. Is's in free beta for now. Many features are coming in future. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I have problems with Macbook + JBL xtreme. It's not working. But any other combinations working fine: macbook + any other bluetooth speaker (i have 4 different speakers + headphones) and several mobile phones + JSB xtreme. Just magic.

Hello, HN!

Today I want to show you my project which I worked on last year. I created it from scratch to production-ready backend, frontend and apps.

Top.st is the easiest way to keep abreast of latest news. The rating is updated in real time, based on readers's social activity. Service selects the most interesting news from 30 countries for you and provides an ability to view the rating in 5 time slots, from real time to a month. iOS and Windows Phone apps are coming soon. They are waiting for approve now.

The app is cordova based, but i tryed to make it look and feel as native as possible. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Categories will be added in a few weeks. And each link will be have a chart with historyc data.

Hello HN,

I created trending news aggregation service called TOP.ST. Ratings are based on people's social network activity and updates in real-time. At the moment the service works in 29 countries. More countries are coming in future. In next updates I planning to add news categories and thinking about e-mail digest.

I'm looking for a feedback. Feel free to ask me any questions here or by e-mail: mail@top.st

It looks good and seems to capture the vibe of the moment well.

Any details on how it works? Which networks do you monitor? Is it just Twitter? How do you know where people are from? Do you go by language? Only take into account tweets with geo information?

Not OP but I'll hazard a guess it looks for URLs which appear at an accelerating rate on Twitter, using a whitelist of domain sources (since we see several frequent domains).

One feedback is I'd avoid the animation effect until the user has been idle for a few seconds.

Excellent idea about waiting for idle to update ratings. I thought a lot about how to prevent changes while user scrolling the list. At this moment user have a pause button, to do it manually, but your suggestion looks more useful. Thanks!

I monitoring 7 networks: Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, LinkedIn for the World and VK, Odnoklassniki for Russia. GEO targeting by source popularity in country.

Yes! I too would love to know how it works under the hood!

Checkout buzzsumo.com and a free version that we built wordlink.com. It gathers all the news in the world (mostly) then sorts it by its aggregated social activity. Likes shares comments tweets pins upvotes, on facebook twitter linkedin google plus reddit pinterest etc... It's also a search engine used by marketing companies to analyze the news. Scrapy twisted python crawlers and elasticsearch backend for indexing.

Nice service! It would be interesting to see some grouping of stories. Some stories appear many times from different sources.

Yes, I agree it would be a great feature. But it looks like that I need some more knowledge in machine-learning, to do this job well. Maybe in future I will be able to do it.

This is very resourceful, you should make a dark theme that's easy on the eyes, that would make this perfect.

Thank you. I already have a dark concept and I will try to release it as soon as I find a good place to put a switch.
