Its not about the number of people liking the design, but more about the quality of people rating them. In his book, guy was targeting certain type of audience. Personally, I didn't like the design "Daisy".
and moreover, I feel you are using Guy's name here for publicity purposes.
When doing market research its about both the number and quality. I agree that our polling audience may not match Guy's key demographic but we do get the numbers for a very cheap price. More to the point of the article, if you didn't like the Daisy design that's fine, I just think its a bit foolish to not poll an audience of more than 1.
Obviously using Guy's name and polls as an example will draw more readers, so yes it helps with publicity. I don't see the issue. It happened, I wrote about it.
I am following this site since its launch. They are doing a great job. Most of the ideas coming from there are typical startup ideas. I am trying to target slightly different group.
This is all fake. Who drives the car with Laptop Lid Open? and why the hell is he looking at the laptop.
Ok let me summarize this. A person came in the car, driving to this persons house, stole the macBook, place it in the front and I guess is browsing Google Maps to find directions. Am I right buddy?
With this attitude, they will hardly succeed. I've been through this situation in the past.
You will be blamed for 100% of the stuff going wrong on technical side, and will be given 10%. Moreover, I don't think you will be able to keep yourself motivated with this kind of attitude within the team. You won't be a considered co-founder, just a technical guy to finish thing off. Remember "Ideas are worthless".
Don't settle for 10%, not even 20%. Its not about money, but how much they value your work. Coming up with an idea is not a big deal, but execution is.
Great Idea. I participated in it just for fun sake and I have to wait for it for too long. Even thats ok, but what's this:
"depending on the amount of money that we spend on this project, we may sell the results to recoup any costs. However, if we can avoid it, we will. Expect no more than $5."
