Maybe. We’ll see if he open sources grok 2 or if he just want others to open source their models and weights.

I don't think it's justified to say that, he can do Grok anyway he wants, he never promised -or make it his mission- to open it up. It's a different story for "Open"AI.

Is this a new thing? As a non-American the US is for us famous for the exact opposite in south/latin America.

Extremely easy.

But the resolution of the images are absolutely horrible...

By giving up enough you can have the possibility of having the U.S. army help you. Unless they for some reason don’t want to.

Thread hijack: where can I get a replacement screen? Mine is very scratched up.

I highly recommend you play the game “Turing complete” alongside this course. Will give you an additional visual way of looking at the problems.

I live in China. You can't use it here easily. Even if you use a VPN you still need a non-Chinese phone number.

I would love to know how they technically they can stop you once you run VPN. Do you have any idea on that?

i know how: you need a verified phone number to open an account, and open ai does not accept chinese phone numbers or known IP phone numbers like google voice.

they also block a lot of data center IP addresses, so if you're trying to access chatgpt from a VPN running on blacklisted datacenter IP range (a lot of VPN services or common cloud providers that people use to set up their own private VPNs are blacklisted), then it tells you it can't access the site and "If you are using a VPN, try turning it off."

OpenAI requires a working phone number to sign up, and a credit card to use various features.

So they just block the phone numbers (which has a country code), and credit cards (which owner/issuer's country info is available).

Not sure why this seems to be such a surprise to everyone here...

I also can’t stand the gimp ui/ux. I haven’t tried it myself but I just googled this[0].

In 2003 I installed a scale in our dorm toilet. When you sat down you push a button and when done you push it again. If you were in the top five you could enter your (three letter max) name using a two button system. Top five were displayed using a super low resolution screen similar to a pinball high score screen.

Don't be shy, give us the top score list

POO, TRD, SHT, ASS, and TED

Poor Ted needed more fiber.

I am curious as to how the scale was installed.

I think it was just a regular scale that you step on, not mounted into the toilet

Oh, duh, that would make more sense.

Sensors under the seat I'm guessing.

This only makes sense to me if everyone poops with their legs in the air, and does not hold onto anything for support.

lotsofpulp

Hmm. May I recommend switching to a less...abrasive fiber supplement? You might be able to relax your protocol a smidge if you do.

I can also recommend Sunvox as a great tracker, but it’s much more than that. Free on most platforms and around 10 usd on iOS/android.

Sunvox is my favorite software, I can hardly remember any other software with so much personality + utility + smoothness + multi platform

One of the example songs actually makes the user interface slowly morph into a sort of demo (!!!!), wait for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHFSrxlouh8

PS. Demoscene is by far the best thing to ever come out of computing, as a whole.

Not to knock on Sunvox or NightRadio (both awesome!), but that effect only exists in the video. It doesn't happen when playing the demo song on the software, and they confirmed it was made with a video editor [1].

Fair, thanks for the note. The pixel scrolling felt like an in-editor effect, and I was overall blown away...
