I understand how examples like this stick in people's minds, however, just because one company decided not to move forward with a technology doesn't mean that all companies will do the same.
Facebook has continued to use it, Microsoft has begun using it heavily, Twitter uses it on the web[0], Discord has been very happy with it -- and countless other examples.
Absolute. I'm using the Nextcloud News plugin which works great and keeps in sync between my devices. Actually I even wrote my own Android client. Because I couldn't find the perfect reader app for me.
That's very cool! I like that the whole project is packed into one html file and that you made it together with your daughter. I'm also working on an open source logic/math game for ~8+(depending on the mini game). If parents on HN are interested in trying it out with their children, please do it and give me feedback https://braincup.app/
It's the other way around :) osmand is a good alternative for maps.me because maps.me doesn't care about your privacy and has 20 privacy tracker dependencies installed(check out the exodus privacy app). osmand has zero
I switched from maps.me to osmand recently after I found out about the 20 tracker dependencies on the Exodus Privacy app. osmand has zero trackers and so many cool features that I use. Love it :)
