being provided a laptop is a red flag...? unless you get hp or cheap dell, then yeah red flag

No for me both Microsoft and Mac devices are a red flag.

It seems you have had the fortune to not have had to suffered through jabber

Oh, I did… I quite liked it actually. :)

I don't mind teams but really do hate outlook.

I like(d) the fat Outlook windows client; it had the set of rules/filters features that corresponded to my needs.

The web client is pants, though.

But you can ‘thumbs up’ an email!

Do you even read your ‘weekly digest’?

I’ve never been so constantly annoyed and confused in an email client than I am in Outlook. I miss actual important emails because the UI is a sea of junk.

oh wait flagging doesn't mean book mark..... TIL I need to do some reversals...

Not sure if sarcastic but to bookmark better upvote

This test shows effectiveness, they also need to go through trials to test for safety and unintended side effects

That’s actually the reverse order (and this trial didn’t test efficacy in humans).

> That’s actually the reverse order

I'd say that depends on how effective something is. If a treatment makes significant changes to most of the patients, you can have sufficient effectiveness proof before you're halfway done with the phase 1 safety trial.

What is Zed? A vscode like editor?

Pretty much, yeah.

It's native code, and it shows. It also has some AI integrations that are different, but I don't know how well they work.

It looks nice, but I haven't managed to use it for long.

Edge is a decent pdf viewer, somehow adobe managed to make soemthing worse than edge

> Edge is a decent pdf viewer

YMMV. For datasheets Edge is a parody. i need a TOC in a 6000 pages document, damn it.

Does the new edge still use the same PDF viewer as the non-chromium edge?

not a sticky note on the desktop?

not just mac os, also the decent keyboard and actually good display, guarenteed.

Displays only got usable after Retina. Which is still very recent.

these days i'd rather have macbook running windows than macos running on standard windows laptop of the same form factor, purely for the efficiency of apple silicon.

It wouldn’t be so power efficient anymore.
