This seems really crazy, why would they really do this 2 years ago?

Many companies do this to protect against people registering names people have used to make fun of them. I've been instructed to do this for a few companies and had to register hundreds of variations of slurs. I personally think it's a waste of time given anyone can put literally any name in front of another domain name. e.g. ClownWhatever.SomeThrowAwayDomain.tld. I think it's really just donating money to registrars.

If anyone plans to do this, one lesson learned is to ensure that this process, the domains names and the purpose is documented in emails with JIRA numbers, in JIRA's with email threads including the head of legal, compliance, fraud, etc... as people come and go and there will be serious questions about why one registered all these domains. A TXT record with the JIRA number is probably also a good idea.

This should give you a clue as to why:

    Referral URL
    www.cscprotectsbrands.com
And they did it 12 years ago, not 2.

Where are you connecting from?

Oh no, that's too bad. Even the status page shows everything is functional! Something's wrong. But the downdetector shows a lot of error reports.

Time and time again, the HN Status Page/Incident Tracker is more accurate than the actual service's own.

I am in London. I checked the console, I got this error:

    {
      code: 353,
      message: "This request requires a matching csrf cookie and header."
    }
Tried with Incognito mode, other browsers, nothing helped!

This is my first Show HN. I tried revving up the forgotten language of PHP to create eCertificates. The full source code used in the YouTube Live Stream is available here and it's Open Source. Feel free to contribute to it. Looking for feedback on this from the community.

Far from forgotten, my friend. It's still alive and generating tons of money for lots of companies.

Whenever I say that I love PHP, people start throwing stones at me, no idea what made people hate PHP. :(

Whether it's Google Meet or Zoom, for a host, you need to sign up. For a participant, you don't need to. Correct me if I am wrong.

For some reason it started popping up in my feeds, and it's very great to see. Plus, this is the time, most of them can achieve something in the quarantine period. :)

I have seen some people who are hunting jobs Feb, they can look at it and download the course too. BTW, you can download the course contents and watch it later.

ahh ok didn't realize

Just give your personal email or create one and give it. :) I know it's kinda wrong, but yea, if you're privacy concerned, there are throwaway emails too.
