> I just let the migration assistant do the needful

but will it revert back if things go wrong?

It leaves the "source computer" alone, so if it blows up you can always just start again.

I never trade in my old computer, even if I'm going to sell or get rid of it (donate) I keep it around for a month or so to make sure everything's working.

It reverts back and it does it at its earliest.

Dear, this was gold.

You might want to sew a Canadian flag on your bag just in case

Fords are very popular in the UK and my Mondeo hasn’t missed a beat in years. the European models aren’t made in US which speaks volumes

> the European models aren’t made in US which speaks volumes

No wonder; the US tanks could just roll over one of the reasonably-sized european cars...

not to be a contrarian but I'm assuming that's European made Fords? Because, in America, Ford right now leads in total recall expenditures of all manufacturers. It's been an issue of theirs for two or three years now.

Yeah, I meant cars made for US market from US brands. True, that Ford is US brand with strong European presence, but I think the model line is quite different. Jeeps getting more popular in EU, since it's part of Stellantis now (company headquartered in EU), but has engines for European market etc.

Have you actually visited Western Europe recently or is your judgement based on what you read?

Yep, I traveled all over Western EU during Ukraine war

Same thing with Brexit, although a lot wish they really did leave now

A lot of the Europeans left although that's a bit of a different thing really - them going home rather than Brits leaving. I know a few Brits who have left although it's not especially down to Brexit, more it just being a bit dreary here these days. Though Brexit has contributed to the dreariness.

Plenty of couples don’t get married and have happy lives together.

Malmö, Sweden has a major rat problem so I would say no

Just a warning, the UK has major problems with anti-social behaviour and youth crime in many places. The police do very little about to stop it.

I'm not sure why you've been downvoted.

This is the exact reason why I left London. It's fine and good if you are by yourself or your partner. But once you have kids, it's very difficult to live in the capital. A lot of stabbing and anti-social behaviour. You'd need to live in the rich parts of London (Chelsea..etc) and even then it's not very safe.

The days of people entering the industry to make big money are probably behind us.

good

The US is still enviable from a UK perspective

Depends where you are socio-economically

I’d rather be poor in the UK I’d rather be chronically sick in the UK, that is if I’m not already wealthy and insured I’d rather be in the US and middle class - particularly with inherited wealth I choose to live in the UK as an high level (middle) manager with my similar status American wife
