Here are some "First Things on a Server" Notes. https://gist.github.com/klaushardt/07f5e3068355aafc2dce660a5...

Ansible/Puppet or NixOS would be better, but this is what works in Self Hosting.

Finder cut and paste is cmd+c then cmd+option+v for move. On the rest I agree.

Which is pretty counter-intuitive: it's "copy", then "paste but delete the original"? Much more natural to remember ⌘-c, ⌘-delete, change folders and ⌘-v.

You can also drag and drop and toggle between moving and copying by holding a key

Take a look at https://www.last.fm/de/music/Demons+&+Wizards/Touched+by+the... and https://www.last.fm/de/music/Savage+Circus/Dreamland+Manor On mobile right now but I think these are second bands from blind guardians lead singer and guitarist. Maybe take a look at the Wikipedia page. I don’t know wo exactly right now. It’s a while ago i listend to them. But it was great at the time.

Yes, my solution was to throw more money at apple and get the "Magic" Trackpad. Just so i can use it alongisde my mouse for swipe gestures....

Apple problems get solved by buying more Apple products, working as intended :)

Sorry i do not use Snapchat and with googeling "Snapchat image flickering" i did not find a good result. Could you elaborate this a bit more or provide me with a link where this is described? Thank you very much. :)

You could just build a stabilizer system and stand really still for 1 second. Then expose for a longer time. Photography is Apertrue, ISO, and exposure time. This will gather enough light to do a proper exposure even in a dimm lit venue. Anything darker and every viewer will have a hard time seeing the private art. ANother thing would be to crank up the ISO and denoise it later. Its much more lossy but with this you could get lower exposure times.

I hear what you’re saying, but I think maybe we just have different standards for what counts as acceptable quality.

I am in the process to convert from windows to macOS. Could you tell me a few reasons not to do it before I maybe make a mistake?

Are you sure about your Statement "All their hardware is harder to repair than what is available from competition."?

https://www.ifixit.com/repairability/smartphone-scores

    Apple iPhone 14: 4
    Apple iPhone 14 Plus: 7
    Apple iPhone 14 Pro: 6
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6
    iPhone 13 Pro: 6
    iPhone 12 Mini: 6
    iPhone 12 Pro: 6
    iPhone SE 2020: 6
vs.

    Samsung Galaxy S22: 3
    Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: 3
    Fairphone 4: 10 (ok clear winner :D)
    Google Pixel 6: 6
    Google Pixel 6 Pro: 5
    Google Pixel 5a: 6
    Mi 11: 4
    Huawei Mate 40 Pro: 4
    Microsoft Surface Duo: 2
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: 3
    Samsung Galaxy Z Flip: 2
    Motorola razr: 1
    Google Pixel 4 XL: 4
I mean, they are all bad, but looks like Apple is not "harder to repair".

I am using https://github.com/mbnuqw/sidebery for this now.

> How about an OS that's not walled-garden shite? One that any competent programmer could write an app for -- in any language they chose -- and offer for download to all comers without getting Apple's permission and without paying Apple a dime?

There are enough cross compile frameworks available. Sideloading is comming in the EU, i think till 2025.

> How about a development system built in to the phone so you could add a keyboard and a mouse and write an app, compile it, and install it without ever leaving the phone?

Will officially be possible with sideloading.

> How about a 1/8" jack so I can listen privately on $15 wired buds from one of 1000 different suppliers without paying $300 for buds that are going to become e-waste as soon as their batteries refuse to charge?

Use 15$ Bluetooth Buds from the 1000 different suppliers? Or use the dongle.

> How about being able to replace the main battery myself, in my home, without trashing the entire fu*king phone?

Is already officially possible.

> How about selling the phone with a decent protective case that still allows the Qi charger to work?

The Leather Case for example is working perfectly fine with Qi Charging.

> How about using formal methods to ensure some Israeli spyware group cannot constantly find zero-days in my phone and put my life in danger without constant after-the-fact patch-and-pray security upgrades?

All software will be exploited. Did you see how suffisticated the last exploit was? They build and own software cpu to execute their payload.
