It seems like you should be able to extract statements of fact from competing sources, say Fox and CNN. The overlap of facts would likely be true enough. The distinct sets then become color as to why those facts were included/excluded and the bias is then it's own set of news.
Weather is a complex mix of many systems. The traditional approach is to understand all the systems and add them together. Since we don't understand them all fully, we get a lot of chaos.
The ML algorithm doesn't care about the science, the agendas, the theories, nothing. It just looks for patterns in the data. Instead of an exact calculation it's more akin to numerical analysis. Turns out that looking at the whole in this case, is better than the sum of the parts.
Taco bell is the most ridiculous now. If I eat there I will only order a $2-$3 "value" burrito. The moment you order any kind of combo, you are out $10+.
> I ate a meal with a drink at Taco Bell for $2-3.
Taco Bell in particular has gone mad, I don't see how they can survive with current pricing. I used to go often, knowing it wasn't good quality but it was oh so cheap.
Today their prices are so high that I can go to a local taqueria and get a giant burrito with far better and fresher ingredients and friendlier service for less money than a few mystery meat tacos from Taco Bell.
So on the positive side, I now only frequent the local business with good quality food.
100% this. ML has been very hyped for a while now and having it was seen as a badge for the company. To be fair, ML is not also something that was historically central to a degree, so many people wanting to get into AI, even good engineers, did not have the background in it. This too is changing though, but the hype and the lack of an experienced pool doesn't help.
I don’t think the background is really that important tbh.
From physics I have a good theoretical grounding in how ML works (optimizing a cost function over a high dimensional manifold to reconstruct a probability distribution, then using the distribution for some task) but I personally find actually ‘doing ML’ to be rather dull.
I would argue that true maturity is when someone can take care of themselves, recognize their inputs with gratitude, and ask for help when needed with humility, not expecting that someone else would take care of them AND being grateful even if they don't get it.
The polarization of our arguments leads us to pretty shallow poles.
I see people posting on Facebook offering services in local neighbor groups. My suggestion would be to find your city's / neighboring city's local Facebook groups and post there. In particular, lower income communities are likely to have more scrappy business type of folks who sound like your target audience.
> I'm always shocked that taking Chili's to go is cheaper than fast food.
That's because the quality is even worse. Chili's (and Applebees) make almost zero profit on their food, it's just a loss leader to get people in the door and keep them drinking. The entire business model is real estate + cheap booze. The food just allows them to operate as a restaraunt instead of a bar, which is much easier to license in most places.
