Just FYI, this article is from January.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything said in this blog post. The real downside to using k8s for a personal blog or hobby project is that it's so damn expensive. I did try rolling my own k8s using k3s and some Raspberry Pis, but that quickly became annoying to maintain and to get up and running in the first place.

Isn't this basically the point of the builder pattern?

I don't think so? I'm not very well up on my OOP patterns, but in my mind the builder pattern in OOP corresponds to the initial algebra pattern in FP, and initial algebras can model domains with or without that kind of restriction. I think they're basically orthogonal.

Agreed. This post seems like it's more about getting rid of proprietary software and replace it with free and open-source software, which admittedly is a lot harder.

I remember learning about him in uni.. RIP Bill

Sorry but "18% other" just doesn't seem fair to write. Come on, an article about diversity that just groups ~1/5 into "other"...

Consider looking into language models such as KenLM. It is used by ASR models like wav2letter and DeepSpeech to correct speech-to-text transcripts

Unfortunately I couldn't disagree more. You do not really need JQuery any more, as JS has matured. I just see it as wasted loading time.

I agree with your opinion that you do not 'need' JQuery. I'm saying that people will use it nevertheless, even if better alternatives are available.

JQuery has a lot of ergonomics that I'm really comfortable with (mainly chaining).

The first job in the list right now is a manager position requiring 10+ years of experience!

Perhaps some filtration based on some simple regex could help get rid of at least the most basic errors? :)

10+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years of management experience leading engineering teams

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, we have a tight regex, but still crawls through. Will improve on that.

That's pretty standard entry level in 2020

Or the ones that want 5 years experience in a JavaScript framework that has only been out for 2 years.

I've seen in the past postings for 5 years experience with Windows server 2016. And this was in 2016.

Typically they wave that error away with an, "oh we just want someone with 5 years of any Windows Server experience, we just happen to use 2016." Quite the double standard.

I'm fairly certain he/she refers to Ericsson, the creator of Erlang.
