Oh deer... I use a laptop stand for my posture so I'm not hunched over. It's trickier when traveling but I recently discovered collapsible stands that I can bring with me
At my former company, they used a product to search across Google docs, confluence docs, help desk tickets, Amy source of tickets and documents they could get their hands on. It was actually quite useful!
Exactly. You still haven't eliminated the human in the loop if you make an AI librarian that generates "insights". Thanks to hallucination and the need to be able to back what you're saying up with something reproducible, you'll still need a list of citations you may have to check up on yourself. To wit, a search engine suffices. One exception might be if you are willing to tolerate inconsistency (or even lies) and aren't planning to share the result, just privately consume it with the appropriate level of caution.
Pretty much. Its just that most people are too lazy to look through results and synthesize information themselves. Also it would be helpful if the LLM could identify outdated or conflicting information, but I don't know if that is within their capabilities.
I use apagard premio, came across it while doing research a couple of years ago (4-5) on nano hydroxyapatite. I've never really had problems with my adult teeth and I continue to not have problems, so at the very least, in my case, is not any worse than fluoride toothpaste. My dentist loves my teeth :D she told me whatever I'm doing, don't change a single thing.
I was laid off a month ago, senior frontend engineer. I've reached out to my network and have been talking to various startups, but it seems like most of the bigger companies do not want to bite.
Compounding that is my desire to keep working remotely, or somewhere local to the DC metro area, so many of the same opportunities that would be available to me in the Bay area, had I remained there, are closed to me, because they're using a hybrid model.
I'm not in much of a rush, and I'm hopeful that I'll find interesting work with some startup.
...You're in DC, NSA is in MD, CIA is in VA. The amount of contracting work in your area is ridiculous. As for non-major contracting companies, Amazon and Microsoft fork over silly bonuses for cleared workers, but that in itself is your barrier to entry... Can you pass an investigation? If so... go roll around in contractor money, there's no hiring freezes or layoffs right now.
Could an employee receive severance and still be able to sue to determine if there was a WARN act violation or discrimination of federally protected classes?
I was laid off, along with many of my remote coworkers, and coworkers in satellite offices. The CTO was internally heard saying that he believed remote does not work for eng.
I am sorry to hear this. I hope things pick up soon again.
Anecdotally, in my neck of the woods, boss started taking 'attendance' and 'someone' complained about leaving early before everyone else. I guess recession is in full swing since employers are embracing all shitty behavior again.
I went to high school with someone who took a path like yours - his parents were not sure about his ability to live a comfortable life going into pro Dota. But I'm so glad you folks are able to do what you love and make a good living.
I'm a big fan of Uprise as a concept - financial literacy isn't something that is taught in schools in the US, but it really should be.
More on topic to the thread:
As context, I'm interested in buying a house so I have the money for the down payment held with VMFXX for the moment. What other ways could I consider holding a sum of money in a relatively liquid way?
Yeah, this is exactly the type of question you should send through the product! The right answer to where to keep cash shouldn't be what you find googling around, but should instead be specific to your situation (i.e. timing of the house, amt of money, the rest of your portfolio, etc.)
