More compact, but also more ambiguous. I suspect an exact specification what Dropbox does in natural language will not be substantially more compact compared to the code.
I'm wondering the same thing. Considering they were just acquired, I'm concerned. Especially since as far as I know, they still are operating under a free model.
Yes, however Automattic seems invested in the idea, since they also acquired Texts.com (which I didn't know before). So maybe the "universal chat app" is still part of their plan going forward?
Still, I'm concerned too. But I guess only time will tell...
TBF, I like the browser doesn't change that much. I install it for / recommend it to friends/family/etc and big changes would only increase the support I have to do. I think forks are much better suited to try out new concepts, which eventually might end up in the browser (I enabled the vertical tabs in 136 and I love them).
I like the design of the landing page and the book pages a lot! Well done.
I didn't use Goodreads, but I'm considering Bookwyrm now, because it supports ActivityPub, which is awesome, because I want to avoid vendor/network lock-in if possible.
Ah yes, ChatGPT, the tool famous for it's rigor and accuracy which can never be brought to agree with something untrue, no matter how hard you try. /s
Honestly, I think this is a horrible format to share ideas. It's a scratch pad with very elaborate but not necessarily true explanations why your ideas could be true. Either submit your ideas directly, so it's easier to point out mental leaps/errors and visible how hard you thought about it or do the fact-checking yourself and publish a blog post with sources.
Edit: 100% agree with wasabis reply and they criticized more constructive so take my comment with a grain of salt.
Small report from personal experience: I wrote the documentation for a project (~ half a bachelors thesis) with Typst. The writing experience was easy and nice, much better compared to the few Latex documents I worked on. Two main struggles I remember:
- We split the "paper" into multiple Typst files. While this organized our content nice, the VSC extension didn't recognize the bibliography imported in another file and displayed errors. Nothing major but certainly annoying.
- It couldn't deal well with SVGs and diagrams in general, so we resorted to just export graphics and include them as images.
6/10 would use again and I'm excited for the new release.

FYI the workaround to solve this is to go to the "root" file and run the "pin current file as main" or something like that of your Typst LSP. Unfortunately this needs to be done every time you reopen your project.
