it is not recruiters, most folks in corporates look at startups as competition, insubordinate, have a bias for action and understand business drivers much better
How does your manager figure you what you are supposed to work on? What information or ability do they have that you don't? Why can't you do what they do. Ultimately there is only one thing that is missing...responsibility. You aren't responsible. Your manager is. But there isn't any reason you can't be.
As others have said, ebay is great as there are a lot of good fossil dealers. I personally got mine at a flea market, and talked the seller down to $20 for something he probably just picked up off the ground.
