Yes you can. But it would result in having the same file uploaded twice, hence it won't result in speed/performance improvements. Got to mention that your question poses an interesting feature itself we will look into possibility of implementing such feature
Yes, once trial period is over, users can select and purchase additional storage as little as 1GB up to 100TB on any subscription plan. Thank you for the question
Thank you for the question. Additional storage (up to 100TB) is available on demand. Desired storage size can get selected at the end of billing/pricing page
great read, I'm using nearly all popular browsers, dedicating them to different purposes. FF is my main driver for the past 2 years, learned new options I'm going to use from your article. Thank you
Although idea isn't new, and I'm sure I've seen "better HN" UIs in the past, — I like it. Trying other "better HN" I've always reverted to the original HN though. UI settings are very nicely put together, but I'd make "setting" button more noticeable. Also would suggest to use user's current system selection of bright/dark UI and week (or even 24 hrs) as "Date Range" by default. Comments section should have distinct separation from OP and preferably "striped" background (darker background for every other comment)
Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your kind words and your constructive suggestions. I completely understand your point about the familiarity of the original HN interface and the challenge of breaking away from it.
Improving the visibility of the settings button is definitely something I'll look into. Making it more noticeable will enhance user experience and streamline customization options. Additionally, I've already incorporated the suggestion of using the user's current system selection for the UI brightness and defaulting to a reasonable date range like the past week or 24 hours. These options are available on the settings page under Default Filters>Date Range and Display Settings>Theme.
Distinct separation for comments and implementing a "striped" background for better readability is a great idea. It'll improve the overall visual appeal and make it easier for users to navigate through discussions.
I'll take all of these suggestions into account for future updates. Thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback!
Love the idea and developer/hacker-centric UI/UX;
Very clever approach with authentication via SSH keys, hope you will find a way to provide account recovery; IMHO prompting email verification as second factor and recovery option is something users used to (just don't send short-code/pin asking to enter it, old-school links would always work; or leave it as an option receive link or code)
