As someone who has managed engineers for many years I find those skills immediately applicable to the LLM domain. If you aren't used to communicating what you are trying to build to other engineers I think using the AI is harder as you need to develop those skills.
I'd take it a step further and say that for any engineer who is used to collaborating with others, engineers or not, should have these skills already, but as most of us know, communication is a generally lacking skill among the population at large, even among engineers too.
OS authors aren't broke. In fact the guys from Microsoft are some of the richest dudes in the world. Maybe OS authors that give away their stuff for free are broke?
If you want to get paid maybe don't give away your software for free? This comes across as major sour grapes. "I made this free thing for people to use and they don't pay me for it!!" Ok, then maybe don't give it away?
Electrification is not the goal, reducing net carbon output is the goal. Electrification is simply one of the methods we can use.
For things like air travel carbon neutral fuels are likely a better short to medium term solution (in the long term we can posit magical high density batteries).
However, if we are going down the path of actually trying to clean up the earth we should take a really long term view and remove all heavy polluting and heavy land use off planet. There is plenty of mass out there to do manufacturing, farming etc. Let's make earth into a garden planet giant park.
