I'm the author of this post. I just wanted to say even with the embarrassment of my site going down (the blog was on a $5/month Digital Ocean plan, never figured I would write something only my mother would read).

Seriously? Four years is quite a long time in today's tech world. Think if you had a four year Android or Windows (whoops) phone if that was a reasonable thought. Bottom line - if you think 4 years ISN'T a long time for a hundreds of dollar device then there's not much hope for you.

Generally speaking, how was this done? Backend scripting or javascript? Not asking for code, but in plain-talk i would love duplicate the concept for a conference site i'm building.
