Dogs replaced kids

Dogs are kids without the sacrfice. A dog will never say he hates you, will not put you through nine months of pregnancy and labor to have, won't force you to give up your career pushing spreadsheets/work lots of overtime hours, won't force you to move for a bigger house or a better school system, and won't end up being a disappointment or worse. You can kennel them to go on your vacations and they will never ruin them by getting sick or sucking all of the fun out of it. They just sit there, look furry, show affection, and occasionally chew up your furniture, poop on the floor, and bark.

Kind of a perfect sign of the times, I guess.

If you see your pets like this, please don't get one.

Apparently, this is not so crazy as it seems. Especially in cities where real estate is expensive, people put off having kids for longer, and make do with pets in the meantime.

Or people like me who 1. Prefer dogs to kids and 2. Believe there are enough people on this planet and did not want to add anymore.

There are lots of us that entirely rationally think the same thing, and actually live it.

Why aren't there more cat books

Dude, you can't just look at any scientific study that points out drawbacks in some social policy you prefer and say "Ah, those scientists must be evil bad guys for arguing against the True Way." In the real world almost every policy has its drawbacks and its ok to still think that marijuana should be legalized even if it has some medical side effects (alcohol has them too!). If you insist that all possible evidence must line up neatly on your side of the scales then you've made the truth your enemy and nothing good can come of that.

oh, no, if genetics reveal differences in humans, then that will make it harder for the rich people to combine many races into each workplace, each neighborhood, each city and each nation. Diversity is how the rich people divide the population, and if the population cannot be divided, then the population will unite against the rich.

Remember, Kids--Diversity is strength....(for the rich)
