If you're going to divide political borders into "real" ones maybe you should start with those within the united states instead of mucking around in Africa. There is always Cascadia.

and then you could consider making a state out of New York City since the culture, religion and ethinic mix is radically different than upstate New York (That is the kind of criteria the author cites).

and realistically, you could look at most of the big states in the US and split them up if we're going to start remaking political borders just because they're old or ineffective. I nominate South Jersey as "Snookiandia". Wow this could be fun!

Funny comic as usual, but the 20 years thing is probably invalid. How long would cracking tr0ub4dor&3 on a 486 take? Also I remember some systems didn't allow pass phrases back then. Windows NT in particular had a max password limit of 14 characters, iirc.

Faster CPUs don't necessarily mean you get more than 1000 auth requests per second against the web site you're trying to brute force.

It's clearly not a right, as far as I know getting electricity isn't a right either. One could argue that Broadband should be a public utility, but even then there would likely be caps and streaming video would probably be a "less important" use of said utility.

> as far as I know...

How far is that?

I think there is a big difference between a business paying an iOS developer $100-200 an hour to make an app and a software developer releasing an app in their spare time. I'm in the process of doing the latter. I've got an idea for an app which I believe is new and original and I hope I make more than $100 a month. Really, I'm hoping for 1000 sales a month in the first few months but that might be overly optimistic.

I'd be fine with $100 a month though. Really, as long as I make $100-200 overall I will recoup my original investment and have learned a valuable professional skill.

I think marketing is going to be a problem. Becoming lost in the appstore seems like it could be an issue.

True, and yes, marketing is always a problem. If you need any help, feel free to contact me through the site or by leaving a comment there.
