They don't care - you can see it clearly in the person you're responding to that they're just thinking about their own personal wants. It's pure selfishness.
I agree with the above poster that it’s a better use of 10-15 minutes. But not native shows/tv. Most languages have all sorts of content targeted at learners, sometimes even broken out by level. The Dreaming Spanish YouTube channel is an example.
But the challenge is you end up spending those 10-15 minutes researching content to use for practice! (I’m exaggerating of course, as once you find a few that’s usually hours and hours of material).
The technique here is called “comprehensible input”.
Right but I (and I assume others) wouldn’t trade 100-200k usd per year for 5-10 more days.
Not to mention most in that environment have plenty of flexible work arrangements as well.
I also CAN take unpaid extra days and most years do, in essence doing that trade for a better price (~1k per day), but I recognize it’s not that common in the US.
Their Spanish-English is significantly more idiomatic than google but as others have said - far fewer languages supported. But I suspect deepl will continue to be better than google as they grow.
