My last company (F50, ass engineering culture, pretends to be a tech company) went and fired all of the juniors at a certain level because "AI"

The funny part is, most of those juniors were hired in 2022-2024, and they were better hires because of the harsher market. There were a bunch of "senior engineers" who were borderline useless and joined some time between 2018-2021

I just think it's kind of funny to fire the useful people and keep the more expensive ones around who try to do more "managerial" work and have more family obligations. Smart companies do the opposite

Their PE ratio is 256. What really matters is convincing wall street to keep funneling money into their company stock

So what he's doing makes a lot of sense. Have to keep the stock high and sell off before reality kicks in. All of this money floating around incentivizes this behavior

It's possible for people to believe two conflicting things at the same time. Especially in this context.

Like someone could be psychologically dependent on believing that Christ rose on the third day even though the rational part knows that that's biologically impossible. This isn't a bug, it's a feature

Religions deliberately target things like this where there's cognitive dissonance. Because once there's cognitive dissonance it creates this weird emotional reaction for people. When they go the religion route they're just chasing this high

idk I just spammed my resume everywhere and did a bunch of leetcode and that was enough, apply to 5 different roles every day and you'll eventually get something

It is a numbers game, but I would apply to at least 10 per day. It might take thousands of applications and months of applying.
