From both the folks I know, and years of comments here on HN - you have LOTS of company.
In the fictional world of Economics, humans are all homo rationalens, and never make such mistakes.*
Vs. in the real world...
*Yes, I sometimes wonder if there's a brutally predatory subtext here - with Economics quietly endorsing "do unto them as you will" maltreatment of anyone who the 0.01% can maneuver into behaving "irrationally".
I’m from Oregon suburbs right by Intel’s largest campus. I went to all public schools and I was really fortunate that for the most part I was able to intellectually explore and take advanced classes. I took full courseloads in high school instead of having empty periods like most of my peers. I entered college as a a junior credit wise. What I read about California often horrifies me
I have bluesky and mastodon accounts and I’m always surprised at how people extreme people call them. I have them just as my music/photography accounts. So the people I add are doing the same stuff. My feed is just as extreme as Flickr aka zero extremeness. Just pictures of bridges and music and normal thoughts.
I bought a portable AC battery for my Mac mini for $65. Hard agree though that it would be a lot cooler if the conversion was in the cable so I could just do dc in.
The thing is, M chips run so efficiently that even with the power loss from conversion, it’s still pulling less power than a lot of PCs.
But yeah it running on a sleek dc battery would be a lot cooler
