Awesome, I do hope this market continues to grow.

I have an educational app as another data point: $6 in 2 days with http://slidetorock.com/apps/MakeChange-change-counting-kids-... - I can't seem to find my own app on the iPad unless I actively search for it though

I hope this helps more people find apps they might like. The new iTunes layout seems to encourage people to NOT read the description at all (sales on one of my apps just dropped 40% due to a bad review - the first review after the latest update). Indexing on 100 chars of keywords is the only way you can find something in iTunes, but there's more to most apps than that.

I use it as a static analyzer for iPhone projects and it creates a nice summary of issues (as linked to) on a web page

Same here - for missing retain/release calls (i.e., stupid memory leaks) it works great.

And, of course, some categories do more volume than others. I hit the top 10 in a category and was making < $100/day

what category is that? seems like it would be a good optimization to try to hit parts of the store that don't have much competition.

Looks nice, max. I thought I'd finally be able to see what some of your apps were but alas, no!

how do you view a list of top songs?

I just posted Inc's article on how Yelp can make or break local businesses (this month's article). http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1062641

one of the greatest app store success stories will be AppViz

We made a small trip to see this when I was growing up in AZ. Mostly forgot about it until now, very cool to see.

They reportedly beefed up staffing over the holiday break. Approval times (for updates at least) were on the order of 1-3 days. Maybe new app approvals are faster too.
