I'm a big fan of self hosting. I have learned a lot on a small hobby project.

for those who are curious about my setup, I bought a used Dell R630 on ebay for cheap. 1tb raid 1 on ssds, 32gb ram, 32 cores, and i am enjoying running a few small hobby apps with docker, virsh, and minikube (yes i learned all 3). I have a 1gbps fiber connection. I use a 1m cronjob to detect if my IP changes, and i use the linode api to change my DNS A records.

i wonder if the community can figure a bolt on double boiler solution for this easily?

At some point I will upgrade to a double boiler but I've been happy with an hx machine.

Very cool. Reminds me of linq to sql

Yes, as an efcore fan, I often wish that we had better ORM in my company's node projects. Sequelize seriously drives me insane

A jooq-like for TypeScript (as vanilla JS would kind of defy jooq's purpose) would be really nice.

I'm not sold on ORMs. They make the easy queries slightly easier, and have no solution more complex queries. Not worth the learning-curve (life times, caching, dirty state, associations, cascading, mapping, etc)

So are modals

I did the same, with Linode dns and their api

I definitely learned some cat facts. Reminds me of my first GeoCities site.

> One of the things I'll never understand was why the attacker was replaying my traffic? They were clearly in my network and could access everything without being detected, why replay all the HTTP requests? So odd.

Did you determine if POSTs were replayed? As in, logging into accounts and sending payment info and account info?

Do these qcom powered ARM systems have better battery life for laptops versus intel?

I have a DSLReports account that is still active from 1999 or so. Also my yahoo email from 1997.

My DSLReports is my oldest! 1999.
