Nice going, nothing like shutting voices whilst being an education startup geared at teaching kids to code

They need to get Nvidia GPUs, AMD/ARM CPUs & a 1080p camera FFS

Their under body sonar & image processing should have picked it up before the attempted braking...hope they put out full postmortem.

That's the whole point inevitably, if it was good we won't stay on a page/multiple result pages for long. Also the rationale behind removing direct image links, so as to keep you on a JS executing page.

Amazing to see privacy not mentioned at all.

I didn't watch the whole live stream so I cannot tell whether they have mentioned about privacy specifically or not. From what I saw from the phone spec, there is a new chip called "Titan M" built custom for the Pixel 3.

"Embedded in the Pixel 3 phones is a new security chip named Titan M. Google designed, manufactured, and integrated the chip into the phone's secure boot process. It's used to protect the lock screen passcode authentication process and to strengthen disk encryption. This same security chip is used in Google's data centers, the company says, which means the Pixel phones are getting enterprise-level security."

this is the quote related to the chip from Wired.

Privacy and security, while related, are not the same thing.

Or more to the point: a chip "providing privacy" that you don't control yourself, really does the opposite.

They mentioned Titan security a few times.

That's to prevent someone from logging into your phone. However, they didn't mention anything about privacy, which would be what happens when you're already logged into your phone, and Google is tracking what you do.

I make it a point to Dropbox critical files(non-media) & do monthly backups of my phone & Mac to 2 physical drives. I'd love for something which does this daily of specific folders on my phone & Mac & makes sure there are no duplicates etc. And then on a monthly basis archive them to 2 or more different cloud storage vendors.

Is the pipeline, OCR->Translate->MCGAN/DeepFont?

Any rationale for not using GMO ingredients?

Seems like a reasonable choice. There are people who won't buy their products if they are GMO, but the reverse is not true. (I doubt there's anyone who will only buy GMO products.)

People won't look for GMO products, but if you have two products with similar tastes and nutritional value, but one is more expensive because it has a "GMO Free" sticker on it, I'd bet most people would go for the cheaper option.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted, because you're absolutely right. Almost no one actually cares about "organic" and "non-GMO". Most in the United States are working paycheck to paycheck, but people on HN seem to consistently forget about their existence.

Folks, it is high time & rather long enough time that we actually bought domains & setup our own email addresses since now everything is linked with one & random termination of a free-email account & linked data loss is simply unacceptable. But that's what you get when you go with a free service provider.
