This is incorrect.

I use jrnl (jrnl.sh) to keep a daily work journal. I start every day writing about the most important things from the day before. My journal entries are comprised of a headline followed by a short blurb. It’s easy to script with jrnl, so I can easily pull out just the headlines of the last week or year, easy to search for colleagues names, etc. Comes in handy during annual reviews or researching history of decisions. And it’s encrypted.

Plot twist: STDs are endemic in the space station. Turns out low earth orbit is a powerful aphrodisiac, and space agencies have hid this from the general public for years. Now we know more about why billionaires are racing so urgently to get to Mars.

> space agencies have hid this from the general public for years

Nonsense. If that were the case, they'd be shouting it to everyone and NASA would never again be underfunded.

First time I've ever seen the word "schmutz" in a headline. It refers to a black particulate found inside the compounded drug.

That’s a poor headline. Since when does “cough” mean spend? Maybe they meant “cough up,” but spend is so much more clear.

Don’t get me started on “capex.”

But that’s the point. Look at all these American workers who quit and we can’t find qualified candidates to fill their vacant positions, so that, Senator, is why we need your vote to expand the H1B visa program.

“Popular gut probiotic craps out…”

My hat’s off to the copy editor who wrote that headline.

What if these supposed aliens live on a different time scale than we do? If they lived tens or hundreds of thousands of years, then death would be much less common to them and sustaining their lives perhaps a distant concern.

He assumes too much.

There’s also the embedded presumption that being rich is a superior state. I think there’s plenty of evidence that being poor is physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting, but that doesn’t mean that being rich is renewing.

I know some proper who have become quite wealthy and have seen the ways money changes them. It’s hard for the mind to justify overabundance in a world of need, so we must rationalize our fortunes as ‘deserved’ for being ‘smart.’

Another way to live is to strive for enough. Enough to help others, to take care of most any emergency, enough to take breaks now and then and be with people you love.

Wait…what?
