Steve Jobs once wrote something like this when he was high I believe.

I did not invent English or the alphabet, I didn’t grow my own food, etc.

> And if you combined all of the above with a cell phone, customers would rather carry 1 device than the 3 it previously took.

And not coincidentally this is exactly how Jobs pitched the original iPhone unveil.

An iPod, a phone, an internet communicator, an iPod, a phone…

> the touchscreen, as long as it is responsive (of course the vast majority of car touchscreens are not, but some are)

Normal refresh cycle period for tablets(iPads) is ~5 years.

Normal life of a car is 10 years (2x).

That means that by year 7 or so, multi-touch performance in autos starts to seriously lag consumer tablet market.

Perhaps we need to have a replaceable/swappable infotainment console now

Hal lived literally a few blocks from Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto for 10 years.

Hal was also the first person who Satoshi contacted, the first person who mined, and died (ALS) a little after Satoshi’s final public correspondence.

I read somewhere that Hal was running a marathon at roughly the same time Satoshi was active, but damn, Hal must have been involved.

a11y is similar to Andreessen Horowitz => a16z in that there’s exactly 16 letters in between the first letter and the last.

Seems like good acronym semantics no?

That's not what semantics or acronym mean, this is more of an inside joke, which isn't great.

I’m a big fan of YC, HN, and Garry Tan.

I’d love to support Garry politically to get SF back to its roots and to put math back in schools.

Unfortunately Garry has blocked me on X for no good reason that I can think of?

> found buried in coin hoards

Has anyone ever tried matching the sizes/circumferences of the coins with the holes?

Could have been used as a auto-coin sorting device?

During the 2nd Starship launch (most recent one),

there were a few scam SpaceX live streams on YouTube where they would play footage of Elon on stage at night from when starship was first unveiled.

The scammers would overlay an AI deep fake of Elon’s voice and push a crypto currency scam!

Those channels were called SpaceXUS or SpaceXLive etc. with legit looking SpaceX logo.

Somehow they managed to gain 1k live followers to boost it in the YouTube algo.

Here’s another awesome Karpathy lecture from Stanford:

https://youtu.be/XfpMkf4rD6E?si=1_EmuYDFfi7RNEhz

This video is the best for learning attention, specifically where he explains:

Think of attention like a directed graph of vectors passing messages to each other

Keys are what other tokens are communicating to you,

Queries are what you are interested in,

and Values are what you are projecting out yourself.

When you matrix multiply the queries x keys(transposed), you measure the interestingness or affinity between the two.

+1

tech execs are trained to be toned down when in public and the camera is on them(so they don't say something that will make -ve headlines later).

Example:

Elon's recent biography shows that he swears a lot casually while working (as do many of us). You wouldn't glean that from any of his public interviews.
