The only law in economics is Say's law.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Say%27s_law

Say's Law certainly isn't the only economic proposition claimed to be a "law", though it is arguably the most misunderstood and most widely regarded as false of all the "laws"...

May I ask which netbook you have?

I have an Acer Aspire One, ZG5. Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz 1 GB RAM 160 GB hdd

I bought it about 5 years ago for a whopping $99, but it has an issue with shutting down about 30 to 50 seconds after POST.

I figure that I got my $99 worth out of it, and have acquired a new HP Envy 15, which is, unfortunately, equipped with a Broadcom 4313 wireless adaptor, thus I haven't yet taken the time to attempt getting the WiFi card to work in FreeBSD, but I intend to do so soon. (time permitting)

>This couldn't have been out of spite. Just to kick Google off the platform.

I think you are being generous. I really think that's what it was about. It actually is the Occam's Razor explanation.

Do you really believe that the professor said they are not allowed to consult each other in person but may consult each other online?

That sounds like conjecture to me. I mean it sounds good but ultimately it's just a story you came up with retroactively.

It's still a marketer.

So what? So is Patrick McKenzie, people seem to be cool with him.

Patrick proudly promotes himself as an SEO/marketing consultant, not a "growth hacker".

I have apparently spent less time thinking of what I call my consulting practice than other people do, but I usually phrase it as "I make money for software companies" rather than any of the above three, for reasons similar to why I don't say "intermediate Rails coder."

I've been called a growth hacker before. Whatever. Couldn't care less either way. Lawyers get paid for caring about the precise boundaries between similar-sounding words. I'm certainly not a lawyer.

I see what you're saying, but doesn't somebody, somewhere have to look at it to make sure it is CP first?

I strongly suspect that anti-CP laws have an exemption for people engaged in law enforcement and the judicial system engaged in real investigations. Otherwise it would be impossible for anyone to be prosecuted for CP. The law makers aren't thad silly.

You are correct. Law enforcement involved in these investigations absolutely looks at CP. If they confiscate a computer with 10,000 CP images, they're looking at every one, day in and day out, and putting together a case for the prosecution. I'm glad that's not my job, and thankful for those whose it is.

Wow. Just wow. The Microsoft redesign that was submitted a month or so ago was.. okay. But this is absolutely horrid. When they got rid of the nod to all the other languages it couldn't be saved.

Great interview and it makes me respect Schwartz even more. It takes balls to admit to mistakes at the level he was at, too.

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. It's pretty much spot on.

I knew the comment would get downvoted. I just hope I don't get arrested. After all, I just comment-raped everyone who had to read what I wrote. Of course, I'd just get bailed out by my connects high up in the Patriarchy. There's nothing you haters can do to bring us down--long live Rape Culture! Muahahahaha.
