20 year old meme that still comes up occasionally as a joke: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_fries

The National Guard is a branch of the military though, unlike the police.

For the past several years there was a movement in the US called "Defund The Police" whose whole premise was the police did more harm than good to minority communities.

There was a sentiment that defunding was a last resort for regaining public accountability of the police. It never happened.

Do you mean Robert Carlyle? Tim Roth kind of looks similar to him, but doesn't appear to have been on any Stargate.

That is who I mean, thank you. It's been a few years ...

You're right around the point they got renewed for two seasons at once, so they had a lot more freedom for extended plot/setting development. I forget exactly which two seasons they were, though.

If you're continuing and at all interested in the timing, SG-1 season 8 has a two-parter premiere, and Stargate Atlantis begins immediately after that, not before or at the same time.

I'd actually decided to re-watch the series this year and am just finishing the 8th season right now.

Yes, I was intending to continue at least until Atlantis so that I can check that out with the proper context as well. Thanks for the details on viewing order.

Related to this, I bought an oven thermometer a while ago - turns out my oven claims it's done pre-heating about 15 minutes before it actually reaches the target temperature. And it's a pretty new oven so this isn't an age thing. Food has come out more consistent since I've started giving it more pre-heating time.

That's pretty much what the Sidekick was: https://www.t-mobile.com/devices/sidekick

It was branded as a smartphone but it was from around 20 years ago and it's unlikely anyone nowadays would call it such.

Sudafed (the working version) was one of the go-tos for seasonal allergies, alongside Claritin. Not everyone reacts to allergens the same way. You'd take Claritin daily for the month or so, then Sudafed for a day or two when it got bad.

A single 0 just throws me off because it makes me think of octal.
