I'm imaging this used as a public listing of your online avatar information. So any chatbot can skip all the pleasantries and formalities of getting to know you.

Thanks for pointing this out. I suspect this why Google agreed to store all the backup data of a competing company for free. Google would have had no interest in storing Facebook's end-to-end encrypted data for free unless it could read it and possibly resell it back to Facebook.

To add to the discussion, I haven't seen anyone mention that this will effectively give the police departments the ability to do surveillance without a warrant


I use glasswire which kinda some some of this. In addition to your list I would also be interested in setting up my homelab to monitor and detect rogue traffic that would have caught my phone doing what was described in the article.
