12 hours later, this has not aged well.

> I am beyond sick of my current company pretending like everything is going to go back to normal one day.

> management has refused to accept the current situation

You don't state what country you're in, but in the US, the pandemic is effectively over. Everyone (that wants to be) is well-vaccinated, many 3 or 4x, Omicron blew through the country and left us mostly unscathed, and the news hasn't talked about daily numbers in at least two months. There is little reason to wear a mask indoors unless you want to lessen your chances of catching the flu - which is ticking up a bit.

We probably don't meet the scientific/medical definition of the end of a pandemic, but socially, we're there.

However, if you're in the US and still feeling this way, you may be suffering from some low-grade PTSD. Don't be afraid to reach out for help.

None of this matches my experience serving, but it turns out this person didn't serve at all and is just trolling. Sad, man.

Flagged. From the article:

> The video is produced by Uniting Missouri, a political action committee created by Parson supporters to back his 2020 election campaign. [...] It operates without direct input from Parson on its activities.

How is this in any way false? I just updated to the latest stable release and it turned telemetry back on, despite my old settings being off. Same as the original screenshot.

I don't see requiring an ID to vote as a very big hurdle. I needed to provide a lot more than that to get my COVID vaccine.

This is a question that is highly dependent on culture, history and location. In Europe nobody would bat an eye and agree to that. But the US had malignant actors that tried to exclude people from voting that were not in their camp. It was nothing else than targeted discrimination. So being skeptical is completely warranted, even if you believe that the US has changed. And even then there can still be problems.

It has to do with lacking trust in today's institutions as well as towards the police.

If the requirement for ID was paired together with laws mandating that the ID be free of charge and easy to get by every citizen, I'd agree.

Are there any states that do not provide free IDs for those in need?

A quick google search suggests that it is easier to list the states that do have a provision for free ID than to list the ones that do not.

It is also not that simple, it is not just about cost, there are other barriers to getting identification. Availability of DMV offices, limited hours, etc.

Perhaps we should make passport cards free, and then fund an organization to proactively identify and issue cards to every US citizen who does not already have one. Then we can require that card in order to vote.

Problem, of course, is that the US Constitution makes voting a state problem. So we are probably doomed to continue having some states adding as much friction as possible while others seek to eliminate that friction altogether.

Don’t you also have to register in advance, prove that you are resident and not voting in multiple places ?

I’d love to believe it’s literally just showing up with an ID, but that doesn’t seem realistic to me.

For you, it probably isn't. But it isn't like the US makes sure everyone can easily get an ID even if rules state you should be able to get one for free.

The same folks may or may not need to provide more than that to get a Covid vaccine. If they need more, they probably won't get a vaccine. Less, and they will.

> Parler was a hate site, filled with conspiracy theories, radicalization and racism

Citation needed. Neither I nor my friends or acquaintances used it for any of these things. Hell, I've hired people off of Parler.

I've been a Parler user for multiple months and have never seen any of the activity like the above poster is claiming. While I occasionally read the far-right stuff for fun (and the far-left stuff on Twitter), my interests are mostly in tech. Never once has someone tried to "recruit" me for any of the above.

I can only assume this nonsense is trolling/preaching to the choir, etc.

Understandable. If you do not engage in their conversations how are they to know you are there.

For one thing, if you give your employer a wildly wrong address (i.e. different state), your taxes will end up pretty screwed up.

Your example could possibly work for NYC vs. upstate, middle-of-nowhere NY, though.

The withholding will be screwed up, but if you claim to be in NY and are actually in Wyoming, you'll probably get a big refund.

But you'll file in your real state of residence, and the other state will then insist you owe them taxes because your employer reported you were working there.

That could be an awkward conversation since a W-4 has this above your signature: "Under penalties of perjury, I declare that this certificate, to the best of my knowledge and belief, is true, correct, and complete."

Definitely consult a tax attorney before you try anything like this.

Fraud is what you're talking about doing and it is illegal. Also most states require payroll taxes so the company would be on the hook for the lie too. You'd be lucky if you only got fired.

I think more results are needed to smooth out the curves. If you check all the results by model so far,

it looks like they're all in the same ballpark (i.e. the Air is not leading others, just comparable).
